YES!! I am DONE with my internship. What next?

YAY!! I am finally done with citibank, ended my internship on the 11th of july, exactly 2 months on the dot since i started this dreadful experience in mid may. OK!! might have over reacted, should not use the word dreadful. Well, lets just say its a boring experience. I gave citibank's HR department and my supervisor a week notice. When my supervisor signed my resignation letter, she asked 'are u sure you wanna leave so soon, we will miss u here'. In my heart i was going YAHHH, i have no second thoughts , I am dying to leave pls sign. hahhaha but I just said 'yah,I am sure' and before I left on the11th, I just went for a typical farewell lunch in wisma central with the other interns and then head over to KLCC to get some dunkin donuts for them back in the office. Then, say my goodbyes at 6 and stepped out of the office once and for all.

Well, i'll miss the people there, all the staff in my department. Though we did'nt talk much. I understand they have tons of work, too occupied to talk. All the best to them. Special thanks to my supervisor, she belanja me 2 times and i return back the favor with donuts hahhaha. Most of all, I'll miss the other interns, sigh we all shared the same fate when we were working in citi. They were the people that made my working days go by soo much easier. We would just hear out each others complains, like a confession session during our breaks in the pantry or our lunchtime. Ir ving, chai hong and Dura, if u're reading this all the best to u guys and keep in touch and Ir Ving thanks for burning me that dvd, owe ya one.

So, what's next? well, I have stopped working like 2 days ago and I am starting to feel like really useless. The past 2 days, I just slept all the way till 11 or 12p.m.....internet was down so, I had to wait till today to blog. In the afternoon, I just occupy myself shopping at the nearby jusco and went over to my couzie's house to say goodbye before he left for melbourne..Went and watched Harry Potter with my couzies sheryn and harry on friday. Basically on friday, I was just hanging around at the mall with them, bought some dvds. mann!! we should hang out more often, it was not very very fun but we all had good company and we were just laughing and eating all the way. Other than that, my day would pretty much be either infront of the t.v, the com or my finance and accounting books. I was soo bored today that I re-watch (is there such word?) Freaky friday and How to Lose a Guy in 10Days all over again. I can't get bored with these two movies, its still soo funny after I watched it over and over again for the gazillionth time.

Anyways, I came to my senses and I DECIDED i need to get healthy and take up a sport. The first thing that pops into my mind is TENNIS.. haha soo tomorrow on sunday its tennis 101 with my younger cousins. I know it sounds embarassing to be learning tennis at 20 with the kids, well better late than never right. My mum was like, do yoga. Really, yoga is a nono for me, I don't have the patience to stretch and relax for 45 min in the same spot. I need movements, I need to move, run, breakout, sweat and just collapse after that. According to my mum, tennis is gonna build your body up not tone it. Who cares, whatever!!!as long as I burn some fats and calories and sweat, I am happy with myself. Tennis is what I am interested in for the moment, lets see how long I can last on court tomorrow.

Tag Heuer's Diamond Fiction...

I can only dream of this watch.. OMG is sooooo PERFECT. So, high tech. Simple and elegant and VERY expensive of course. I dare not find out about the price tag for this perfect piece of material. Here's the 411 (info) bout this watch from the TAG website:

Diamond Fiction
For the first time, diamonds give time.
The astonishing alliance of high-end jewellery and avant-garde technology integrated into an audacious version of a new timepiece: the first time that diamonds give time. The Diamond Fiction is an exceptional watch, both glamorous and avant-garde.
An exceptional innovation, TAG Heuer’s latest haute joaillerie creation does not look like a watch, but rather a piece of haute joaillerie jewellery; it is precious and pure, and loaded with sexy space-age technology, designed exclusively for the fashion-forward female.

This luxury watch set with 879 Top Wesselton (5.8 carats) VS/SI (1.1 mm), full-cut, diamonds hides a surprising innovation: the digital display through the diamonds. 54 of the 879 diamonds have been cut in a revolutionary way to provide a very high-definition concentration of the light emitted by 54 LEDs (light emitting diodes) that display the time in glowing red. The red is echoed in the satin strap that gives a warm and silky look contrasting with the brilliance of the multiple diamonds.Of inestimable value, only three of these exceptional haute couture timepieces have been produced.
Can I get this watch for my 21st b'day. HAHAHAH... I am dreaming. My dream watch.

I AM NOT A PLASTIC BAG by anya hindmarch

The "IT" bag that everyone wants a piece of. If u are not aware of what exactly makes this bag soooo in demand. Well, it is from anya hindmarch . A high end luxury brand that decides to create a bag that helps send a message "SAY NO TO plastic bags".

Here's all the info u need about this bag from the anya hindmarch website:

I’m Not A Plastic Bag is a reusable bag that can be used for shopping, the gym, the beach, school etc. Anya is trying to use her influence in a positive way to make it fashionable not to use plastic bags, to raise awareness of this issue and to encourage people to make small changes in their behaviour. I’m Not A Plastic Bag is made in China. They have worked with a reputable supplier there whose workers are paid double the minimum wage and who complies with all aspects of Chinese Labour Law. The factory also retains external consultants to monitor it from an international standards standpoint. The bag is a stylish, practical reusable alternative that she hoped would raise awareness of the issue of wasted packaging and spark debate. They have shipped the bags by sea and carbon offset the production and freight through the purchase of carbon credits.

Overwhelmed by the world’s response to this project and inundated with requests to take this bag available to a wider international audience. The UK bag was priced at £5. This price meant that Anya Hindmarch and all launch partners have not been covering their costs. However, in order to launch the bag more widely & internationally, they had to make it cover it’s costs & ensure that no party loses money. The price for the next launches therefore, will be £7.50 (or the local equivalent). They also hope that the international launches will spark the same awareness and debate that they have provoked in the UK and encourage people to reuse, reduce and recycle! At this present time no more UK bags are planned. There will be some more brown bags available through Corso Como in Milan & Brown Thomas in Ireland in July.

When they started working on this project two years ago they had no idea that there would be so much demand for this bag. They did not anticipate these bags selling out so quickly in the UK. This project was only ever intended to be a limited edition project. There will be further limited edition launches in other countries this summer. It is inevitable that some customers are attracted to this product because it is an Anya Hindmarch Bag for a low price point. Anya's view is that whatever the reason is for customers carrying this bag they are still conveying an important message. The bag is designed to be a practical and stylish alternative to plastic bags that they hope that customers will reuse. It is surprising how many plastic bags you start to refuse on your daily shopping trips when you are carrying a reusable bag and surprising how many people are influenced by the walking billboard that is Anya's bag!

The bags appeared on e-bay but then they realised that this is to be expected when there is so little stock and so much demand and this has led to creating more awareness which was the purpose of this project. Unfortunately they have no control over bags appearing on eBay. Please note that this bag is not a charity project so charities are not losing out. Whatever that is, these bags are selling like hot cakes everywhere. In the US and UK it sold out like 2 hours after launch. In malaysia today: lets here my part of the story.

THIS BAG COST ONLY RM55 here back in malaysia. MAN!! I tell u those ppl here are crazy over it. It was only on sale at the anya hindmarch branch in KLCC today on a first come first serve basis. Genuis me! I was thinking that malaysians won't be that crazy over some 55 bugs bag, and clearly it proved me wrong. I reached KLCC at 7.30 a.m and there was huge crowd ahead lining up . I was around the 420th when I got there. Can u imagine how early those ppl in front got up. They have been waiting for klcc to open at 6a.m and then rushed in to queue at the 1st floor. As u know, stores only open at 10.am. So, that means all those lining up haveta wait from 5.30a.m the earliest all the way till 10 a.m . There were broadcasters from NTV7 and all other medias . As for me, I waited from 7.30 a.m till around 12.pm and then half way through ,the store assistant announced that they are OUT OF BAGS! SOLD OUT! Those ppl infront of the line was shouting and screaming.. cursing . Pity them , they reached at 6.30 and they still could'nt get the bag. I was a bit relieved that at least I got cut out in the middle of the line rather than getting cut out in front of the line . Can u imagine what's the feeling knowing that you gonna get ur turn to grab one of those bags after a few more ppl and then they just announce SOLD OUT. I will be friggin pissed.

Anyways those ppl, in front went berserk and started a riot, kickin the barriers and cursing. One thing I haveta bring up here, is that the store management on this huge event really SUCK. Customers were not told or informed about the amount of bags they will be selling out and the store staffs just let the crowd stretch up to 1500 while they have only 200-250 bags on sale. After much shouting, screaming and cursing, the securities were very tight around the stores, those staffs finally came out to apologize that they did not have enuf bags. DAMM DUMB, is not about whether u have enuf bags or not, is the fact that u should know that u have less that 250 bags and still let the queue stretch till 1500. The reason they gave is that, they did'nt know how many bags they were selling.
Apparently we the customers felt that they purposely refuse to make a statement of the number of bags so that more ppl would turn up. Free publicity. Then staffs make a statement that that they have no such intention of using us to publicise the store, that this situation happens in all regions that are selling this bag. Thank god, there was one customer that fought back he claimed that he came all the way back from UK and that the branch in UK did actually give out numbers to ppl (numbering) who are queuing and that ppl actually are notified about the amount of bags available on sale. Unlike the situation here, ppl actually take a day leave from their work and came all the way down at 6.30 to queue. C'MON, they should at least have the decency to tell us when they open the store at 10 a.m that they have only 200 bags available and let those ppl at the back get back to their business, instead of giving us hope and wasting our time waiting. We felt like IDIOTS. PISSED!!! Those ppl in front was about to break the glass to snag the sample bag on display if it was'nt for the securities.

TOO MUCH mann!! those staffs were terrified, they just off the lights and shut the doors. WHAT THE F? is that how u handle this kinda situation. SERIOUSLY? WHAT KINDA MANAGEMENT IS THAT? Earlier during the riot one of the staff actually accuse us the customers that we were actually told not to queue but we insisted on lining up. AGAIN!! WHAT THE F? use u're effing brains man.. y would we queue if u have told us that we would not make it to buy the bag. DO U THINK WE HAVE nothing better to do? They should have just be a bit more clear cut about the amount of bags instead of making us guess. Apparently some ppl, where told they were 1000 bags available. TURNS out less than 250 and they gave some lame excuse like some are for reservations. PLS CUT THE CRAP! and just say u handle the situation badly and apologize for god sakes, instead of giving crap reasons and accusing customers for being stubborn for lining up. VERY BAD MANAGEMENT!!!!

Ok back to the real reason malaysians go gaga over this bag. Do u actually believe that we will get the bag for the sake of the environment. HAHA ppl here are queing like crazy just because this bag is all around HOLLYWOOD. Its the official goodie bag for this year's OSCAR VANITY FAIR party.

WIMBLEDON

Wimbledon is in the air for me now. I am glad I am gonna stop work in just a couple of days time, phew 2 months of boring working life. Oh wells, now that wimbledon is on, I am glued to the t.v once again for long hours. 2 weeks and its now the women's quater finals, I find it a waste of time watching mens (federer is gonna win again). Its sooo sad to watch maria sharapova got kicked out. Never taught she would not make it to semi, though it is a bit expected that she would not be crowned as wimbledon champion 2007 (shoulder injury). She lost terribly to venus, mann I am starting to hate those williams sisters. Thank god J.henin just swept serena off the court on the same day. If not I would just skip watching wimbledon finals. So, one williams down another one to go.

Meantime, came across this really cool video on sharapova. I haveta say her journey to the life she has today is really inspiring and that explains why she is such a perfectionist in playing tennis. Even though she won venus in Miami, somehow she felt she played terribly. Her presence on court is soo fascinating to watch. Quote from wimbledon.org "Usually her extraordinary inward-looking intensity is fascinating to watch, as if there are just three people present – herself, her opponent, and her father Yuri Sharapov, who is also her coach. Even in the ultimate arena of the Centre Court, the 14,000 spectators do not seem to exist for her. Moreover, even when she is storming to victory, her face so often wears an expression like thunder. And why not, when this hugely competitive formula works so well for her?".

Sigh, sad to say maria sharapova is off from wimbledon 2007. Well, there is always next year. Besides she has acomplished a lot in her 20 years of age. Two grand slams and just look at the number of endorsements she is endorsing. Can't blame brands like tag, canon, nike, prince and all for making sharapova part of their brand afterall that lady has got everything from looks, body to talent . This 6'2 beau is friggin loaded, highest paid sportswoman of 2006 when she was just 19 last year. She is not only a plain pro tennis player she is also a fashion icon/model. Previously ranked no.1 in the world, now no.2. Third youngest to grab the wimbledon champion title. She was only 17 when she won back in 2004. Her dad has a lot to be proud of.

Maria Sharapova the journey.... I dedicate the next 2 posts to her inspiring journey towards success. Posted up a beautiful and inspiring video from you-tube. wow!! She sings too, what next after a tennis career ,acting or singing? That's new no tennis player has taken that up. She is already in modelling or maybe perhaps coaching then. But then again, she is already earning enough to last her a lifetime. For now, lets just hope she gets that shoulder of hers better and continue playing incredible tennis.

Maria Sharapova the journey..

For those of you who do not know Maria Sharapova's journey to become one of the top players in the highly competitive sport of professional tennis. Her journey symbolizes her determination, grit and champion's desire to win. Her story is one of sacrifice, focus and extraordinary talent. An only child, Maria was born on April 19, 1987, in the Russian industrial town of Nyagan in western Siberia. Her parents had relocated from Gomel, Russia, to escape the aftermath of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster. In 1989, the Sharapovas moved again to the Black Sea resort town of Sochi; it was here that Maria developed a love of tennis. Watching her father Yuri on the courts, four-year-old Maria learned to play using a second-hand racket. Yuri quickly recognized and nurtured his daughter's exceptional talent.

In October 1993, her gift was confirmed from an unexpected source. Maria and Yuri were attending tennis clinics held in Moscow during the Kremlin Cup when Martina Navratilova happened to spot the six-year-old hitting balls on the court. Maria's form and shots stood among the mostly older children. "She has talent," the legendary champion commented to Yuri - and he took her words to heart. Struggling with how to help Maria reach her potential, Yuri and his wife Yelena decided to take a chance and seek world-class coaching for their daughter. In pursuit of this dream, Maria and Yuri boarded an airplane to the United States in March 1995, leaving Yelena behind in Russia to finish college and await a visa. The odds were against the two from the moment they touched down in Miami: neither spoke English and Yuri had just $700 in his pocket, money he had borrowed from Maria's grandparents.

Several days and many bus rides later, six-year-old Maria and Yuri arrived uninvited at IMG's Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Although the Academy's coaches immediately recognized Maria's talent, she was too young to be enrolled as a full-time student. Yet Yuri was not discouraged. Believing in his daughter's talent, he settled in nearby Venice and coached Maria on public and private tennis courts. For two difficult years, Yuri worked odd jobs while Maria competed in local tournaments and began to accumulate victories. In December 1995, perseverance paid off -- Maria received a scholarship to the Academy and became a full-time student. The nine-year-old lived on the prestigious campus for seven months, seeing her father only on weekends. Her separation from him, combined with constant teasing by dorm-mates nearly twice her age, forever impacted Maria but also intensified her resolve to succeed.

After obtaining a U.S. visa, Yelena finally reunited with Maria and Yuri in June 1996. Maria moved out of the dorms and into an apartment with her parents while she continued to perfect her tennis skills at the academy. In November 2000, 13-year-old Maria exploded onto the world tennis stage with an impressive win in the Girls' 16-and-under Eddie Herr Championships. Her first professional tournament quickly followed in April 2001 and her first WTA tournament in 2002. In a highly competitive sport where many try but few succeed, Maria Sharapova's drive and determination will inspire young girls for years to come. From her 2004 Wimbledon championship, to being the first Russian female to ever claim the #1 ranking in the world, to being the fifth youngest female to ever hold the #1 spot, to her growing list of corporate endorsements, Maria symbolizes what hard work, world-class training and unwavering commitment can achieve: a front-row seat on the world's stage.
